Johnson & Pace Incorporated Hires Two New Professionals
Longview, TX Johnson & Pace Incorporated, the Longview-based Architecture, Surveying and Engineering firm, has hired two new professionals to support growth in its oil and gas, road design and railroad track design divisions. Joe Hart, Jr., Professional Land Surveyor, will primarily oversee oil and gas surveys. Dan Metcalf, Professional Engineer, will primarily oversee Texas Utilities Mining projects including detention and sedimentation ponds, road design and railroad track design.
Joe W. Hart, Jr. began surveying with his dad, Joe Hart, Sr., at six years old. Hart graduated from Longview High School in the class of 1957 and served in the Air Force for four years. In 1965, he earned an associate’s degree in Engineering and Sciences from Kilgore Jr. College, and then took surveying-related courses at the University of Texas in Austin, Texas. After several years of working and gaining experience in the field, he was licensed as a Registered Public Surveyor in the state of Texas in 1974.
Hart held the office of Harrison County Surveyor from 1976 to 1991 while operating Joe Hart Surveying Co. Since that time he has worked for Hart Engineering and for Collins Surveying and Mapping, Inc., in Atlanta, Texas, as in-house surveyor in the office. He is a member of the Texas Society of Professional Surveyors.
Dan Metcalf earned his BS in Civil Engineering from Texas A & M University and has spent most of his career working with TXU Mining and the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). While with TXU Mining, he was staff engineer and construction supervisor with the Monticello Mines, operations foreman with the Winfield North Mine, and construction supervisor with the Martin Lake Mines. Metcalf is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
Johnson & Pace began operating as an engineering and surveying firm in 1995, and in 2004 added architectural services. The company’s list of capabilities includes land planning and development; building, architectural and industrial design; transportation services; water resources; and surveying and mapping.
