Mr. Camp studied architecture at Texas A & M University where he took a Masters in Architecture in 1981. He is licensed to practice architecture in the states of Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Missouri, Nevada, Oklahoma and Utah.
He began his career with the Longview firm of Eager/Olivo Architects working primarily on commercial retail, business office and public school projects. Subsequent work in industrial development was followed by a tenure with the BDA Design Group where Camp was a junior partner and project manager for church, school and office projects. Leaving BDA for private practice, he engaged in the design of a wide range of building types representing a culmination of previous experience. It was in this context that he joined Johnson & Pace.
His architectural experience is comprised of the near-full spectrum of building types including religious, educational, office, mercantile, clinical and industrial. He has been engaged in projects at all levels of architectural service from master planning, building programming and budget estimating to design, project management and construction phase monitoring.
Mr. Camp currently serves as project architect for Johnson & Pace and has worked on several types of architectural projects since 2004, when he joined Johnson & Pace. In 2004 the firm completed the design for an Ashley Homestore remodel in Tyler, Texas, completing all design services in house. In 2005, the firm completed several projects for J-W Power in Lakeport, TX including a $2 million Office Remodel and Addition Project and the civil design for a new shop facility. Since that time Mr. Camp has worked on several church additions, office remodels, and dealership renovations and additions.
