Doug Camp, RA Mr. Doug Camp is licensed in 14 states as a registered architect with the American Institute of Architects, including Texas, Louisiana, Georgia, Colorado, and others. His architectural experience comprises nearly all building types, including religious, educational, office, and industrial. He has been engaged in projects at all levels of architectural service from facility master planning to building programming and design to project management and construction phase monitoring. Mr. Camp has also earned LEED Green Associate status from the Green Building Certification Institute based on the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design.

 

Robert Cooper, PE
Manager, Industrial Engineering Services

Mr. Robert Cooper graduated from Texas A&M in 1973 and began his career in engineering that summer. His specific engineering experience is in industrial and structural engineering. Currently, he is licensed as a Professional Engineer in six states, including Texas. Mr. Cooper is also listed on the Union Pacific Railroad Referral Literature for Engineers. His clients include the former Pilgrim's Pride, Roy O Martin Lumber Company, Denbury Resources, and Boise Building Solutions. Mr. Cooper works primarily on industrial projects including design for wood manufacturing facilities, railroads, piping, thermal oil piping, and airport hangar design. He has been involved in all aspects of development including planning, design, and bidding and construction administration.

 

Travis Crafton, PE
Project Manager, Land Development Services

Travis Crafton, PE Mr. Travis Crafton began his career with Johnson & Pace after graduating from Texas A&M University in 2004. He currently works on large commercial and retail development projects as well as residential subdivisions. He has acquired valuable experience in the design and analysis of roadways, water distribution systems, sanitary sewer collection systems, and storm water drainage, and detention facilities. Mr. Crafton manages the design and preparation of construction drawings for site development, which includes site grading, drainage, utility, and paving plans. He has also prepared numerous Construction Cost Estimates, SWPPPs, and Storm Water Quality Management Plans. His past work experience includes bridge, roadway, and storm drainage construction, as well as land surveying.

 

Mark Emery, PE
Manager, Transportation Design Services

Mark Emery, PE Mr. Mark Emery has over 12 years of engineering experience with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and over 11 years of experience providing professional services to TxDOT as a consulting engineer. He has a broad range of experience in all phases of project development including feasibility studies, route studies, highway and street schematics, plans, specifications and estimates, QC/QA, value engineering, aesthetics, and the like. Mr. Emery joined Johnson & Pace in 2009 and currently serves as project manager responsible for overseeing the design and development of projects for the transportation industry.

 

Jeff Hamilton, PE
Project Manager, Land Development Services

Jeff Hamilton, PE Mr. Jeff Hamilton graduated from LeTourneau University in 2001 with a degree in engineering and is a licensed engineer in the state of Texas. With 19 years of industry experience, Mr. Hamilton specializes in large commercial developments, water and wastewater distribution and collection systems, stormwater drainage and detention facilities, and roadways. Mr. Hamilton has experience with projects requiring FEMA, TCEQ, TxDOT, and local governmental agency approval and has managed projects from conceptual plans through construction completion. Mr. Hamilton currently manages a team of civil engineers and design technicians where day-to-day responsibilities require coordination with clients, governmental bodies, and regulatory agencies.

 

Rich Lewis, PE, SE, LEED AP
Manager, Structural Engineering and Facility Design

MS, Civil Engineering, Villanova University

Rich Lewis, PE, LEED AP Mr. Richard Lewis earned a BS and MS in civil engineering and has several years experience teaching engineering-related courses at the university level. He is also licensed in several states as a Professional Engineer, going beyond the normal Principle and Practices of Engineering Exam to pass the Advanced Structures I and II National Exams. This qualifies him to be designated specifically as a Structural Engineer. Mr. Lewis has served organizations around the world with facility design; much of his work has been in third-world countries. This global experience has given him a unique perspective of designing with limited resources. Mr. Lewis has also earned LEED AP accreditation from the Green Building Certification Institute based on the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design.

 

Troy Maxwell, RPLS
Manager, Commercial & Residential Land Surveying

Troy Maxwell, RPLS Mr. Troy Maxwell started at Pace Surveying just prior to the formation of Johnson & Pace in 1995 and has worked in the surveying field since 1980. Mr. Maxwell is a Professional Land Surveyor and is registered in the state of Texas. He has significant experience in boundary, topographic, and GPS surveys, as well as utility and land development projects including construction staking, route surveying, deed research, and preparation of descriptions and reports. Mr. Maxwell serves as the manager of our land survey department, supervising the activities of our company field crews and leading our team of Professional Land Surveyors and Survey Technicians.

 

Terry Nealy
Coordinator, Oil & Gas Surveying

Drafting coursework, Kilgore College and Eastfield College

Mr. Terry Nealy began his career in engineering and surveying in 1968 and has worked on numerous surveying projects, specifically oil and gas well surveys, since that time. Coursework in drafting at both Kilgore College and Eastfield College established a framework that Mr. Nealy has built on over years of experience. In 1976, he started a 29-year career at Hart Engineering Company in Longview, Texas. During his time at Hart Engineering Company, he served as Project Manager for oil and gas well, pipeline, and unit surveys. In addition to oil and gas surveys, Mr. Nealy also has experience with surveying for clients like AEP/SWEPCO and Henry W. Pirkey Power Plant, and construction projects, such as the construction of FM 2625 and FM 3251. His experience also includes construction of railroads, earthen dams, and a project that involved 23 miles of waterline from Lake O' the Pines to the Pirkey Power Plant. Currently, he manages the field crews and technicians in Johnson & Pace's Oil and Gas Department.

 

Bruce Rucker, RPLS
Director, Land and Oil/Gas Surveying Departments

Bruce Rucker, RPLS Mr. Bruce Rucker began his education in drafting in 1988. In 2000, he started with Johnson & Pace in the survey department and is now director of the department. He is CAD-certified by Tyler Junior College and has a degree from Bartlesville Wesleyan College in Business Administration. Prior to joining Johnson & Pace, Mr. Rucker worked in construction management for about 15 years. He has experience in surveying (boundary, topographic, utility, GPS, and ALTA) and land development (site development, route surveying, deed research, and preparation of cost estimates, descriptions and reports). Mr. Rucker is a Registered Professional Land Surveyor in the State of Texas.

 

Doug Thomas
Project Manager, Industrial Design and Special Projects

Doug Thomas Mr. Doug Thomas has over 35 years of experience providing services for construction management, office management, and drafting / designing. Mr. Thomas leads projects and helped with drafting design on industrial equipment projects and buildings and arenas. Select projects include: new bark burners systems, new saw lines and finishing lines, new office buildings, and processing equipment used in refineries. Mr. Thomas also helps in the creation of scope of work and bid documents.
